For the past few weeks I’ve been on a Les Mills On Demand journey. Okay, mostly Bodypump and I’m loving it! I tend to stick to the Bodypump workouts because they’re my absolute favorite. The most recent one I tried was Bodypump #89.
Whoa. Baby.
One of the reasons I love Bodypump so much is because you get a nice full body workout all at once. I like my workout splits sometimes too but it’s nice to just get the full body done in one session. Since these workouts are challenging, full body workouts I don’t do them every day. I do Bodypump workouts 2-3x per week. I’ve actually been considering creating a hybrid with Les Mills Bodypump and some cardio workouts I have from Beachbody. If I get one together I’ll be sure to share it here on the blog.
Bodypump #89
Here’s what to expect from this workout:
A 55-minute workout featuring warm-up, legs, chest, back and shoulder tracks | Equipment: bench, barbell and weight plates. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, this is a short but effective way to work all major muscle groups. This workout kicks off with some time under tension movements to tone, shape and strengthen. There are plenty of new moves for you to try – from the Double Row combination in the Warm-up, to the Heavy Barbell Row and the Plate Squat Press in the Back Track. There’s not much else to say – this class is a knockout. Get into it!
Workout Length: 55 minutes
I got brave and decided to choose a workout from the “Longer Workouts” section. I’m really glad I did! It was challenging but by the time I was done I felt like I couldn’t possibly do anything else. This workout has tracks that hit all muscle groups!
If I remember right, these were the tracks:
- Warm up
- Legs (squats)
- Chest
- Back
- Triceps
- Biceps
- Shoulders
- Legs (lunges)
- Abs
- Cool down
I think in this workout the back track was actually my favorite. I loved the song! And of course the track with “Applause”. I’m pretty sure that was triceps. And I was thinking of that Kia commercial with the guinea pigs the entire time!
Track list:
*All tracks are Les Mills cover songs.
1. “Not Alone” Les Mills cover recording of the track originally recorded by Dane Rumble feat. Jupiter Project
2. “Raise Those Hands” Les Mills cover recording of the track originally recorded by R3hab & Bassjackers
3. “Where Did The Party Go” Les Mills cover recording of the track originally recorded by Fall Out Boy
4. “Me & You” Les Mills cover recording of the track originally recorded by Nero
5. “Applause” Les Mills cover recording of the track originally recorded by Lady Gaga
6. “When You Were Young” Les Mills cover recording of the track originally recorded by The Killers
7. “Burn” Les Mills cover recording of the track originally recorded by Ellie Goulding
8. “True Hardstyler” Les Mills cover recording of the track originally recorded by Brooklyn Bounce & DJ Zealot
9. “La La La” Les Mills cover recording of the track originally recorded by Naughty Boy feat. Sam Smith
10. “Radioactive” Les Mills cover recording of the track originally recorded by Imagine Dragons
The better the range, the quicker the change.
Final Thoughts
This is just another Bodypump workout to add to my favorites. I seriously love them all. The time under tension in this workout is challenging and took every ounce of strength I had. I was pretty much useless for the rest of the night but I slept like a baby!
Happy hump day,
