August Favorites: Music, Metallica and Money

Each month I round up my favorites and share them all with you in a blog post. Favorites may include things, products I love, articles I’ve read, experiences… it could be anything I really enjoyed during the month! It’s a little late but things have been crazy with school starting back up again.

Here we go!

August Favorites

  • iPod Shuffle.

I totally splurged on myself a little and purchased an iPod Shuffle. It was around $45. We’re working diligently towards paying off debt and this was a little reward for myself. I spent hundreds on the kids for back-to-school so this was just a little something for me. I LOVE how portable it is and how easy it is to use. I just sync my favorite playlists and it shuffles through the songs. It’s so small and lightweight I’m able to just clip it to my tank top or sports bra and workout.

It has never fallen off and the earbuds fit nicely too – which is SUPER.

  • Metallica Concert.

Tickets for the Metallica concert at U.S. Bank Stadium went on sale to the public on MY BIRTHDAY! Was it all meant to be or what? My dad and stepmom purchased my ticket as my birthday gift. Saweeeeet! The first time I remember hearing Metallica was on my way to soccer practice around the age 0f 9. I’ve loved them ever since. Thanks Dad!

I’ve been to several concerts and I’ve seen a lot of great bands but these guys really put on a show. They played 19 songs! I thought it was a great mix of old and new. I thought they were incredible. People on the train ride home were commenting how it’s easily one of the best concerts they’ve ever seen – if not the best.

*Side note: I thought Volbeat was amazing too and I was bored by Avenged Sevenfold. We were waiting in line for t-shirts while they played.

Here’s a panoramic view of U.S. Bank Stadium:

I know it’s small, the actual picture is HUGE.

The stadium is gorgeous!

We were pretty far away from the stage so I couldn’t get great pictures but I do love this one:

I highly recommend seeing these guys if you’re a fan and they tour near you!

  • Every Dollar Budgeting App.

I’ve tried several different ways of budgeting and so far this has been the only system I’ve been able to stick with. I’ve been using Every Dollar for over 3 months now and it really helps me stick to our budget. I do still struggle at times but this app is a huge help and makes it easy to add items in. I try to add items daily to stay caught up.

It has plenty of different categories with room to add as many as you need. The app has both a free and paid version but I’m perfectly content with the free version! It helps make planning monthly budgets a breeze.

  • Feeling Beautiful Charcoal and Black Sugar Mask.

This stuff is amazing. I’ve been using it for over a month and I love how clean and smooth it makes my skin feel. I have sensitive skin and some mud masks are irritating or make my skin red for a bit but this one feels gentle – no discomfort or dryness at all. It pulls the gunk out of my pores and makes my skin instantly smooth. For that reason, this is a great mask to use just before applying makeup but I really hate the thought of dirtying up my face after it’s squeaky clean!

And that wraps up my favorites for the month of August!
