Charlie Mike Workout Update

A couple weeks ago I finally started the Charlie Mike workout program so I wanted to give a little update on my progress with it.

*I don’t take before/after photos or measurements anymore because I tend to over-analyze and focus on the numbers and my trouble spots. My fitness journey is a journey. I’m not always going to be the “after”. There is no after until my journey ends.

This workout is tough but I’m finding it to be one of the funnest ones I’ve ever done.

Why?

I’m in love with the circuit-style workouts combined with a heavy lifting element.

Two days on, one day off… what’s not to love about that?! It’s nice looking forward to a rest day every couple of days. Then I know I only need to power through two more workouts to get to the next rest day. And those rest days feel like dessert, let me tell ya.

Still happy after day 4:

Charlie Mike Workout Day 4

My #1 tip to push through this workout (or any tough workout)? A great playlist! I have a ton of older Shinedown music on my playlist right now and that has definitely been a huge help!

I just bought an iPod Shuffle for my workouts because of the small size and I’m in love with it. I just clip it to my sports bra and it stays put. So far I’m not having trouble with the earbuds either so that’s a plus!

I’m also loving how much these workouts make me sweat:

I’m always, always, always happy to see my sweat angels!

I did miss a couple workouts over the weekend.

We started painting the living room and I was on a mission. I’d wake up, paint, take a nap and then paint again. It was pretty exhausting but relaxing at the same time, if that makes sense.

We have a lot of woodwork in our house and it’s an orangey oak color that I finally got sick of and have started painting white also. I’m so in love!

Here’s a sneak peek:

It really brightens everything up. I’ve been wanting to do that since we moved in but was too chicken and overwhelmed to start. I’m so glad I finally bit the bullet! It’s bright during the daytime and cozy when it gets dark.

I’m hoping to get the living room completely finished next weekend. I’m still gonna try to get my workouts in too – it should be a little easier because we’re down to one kiddo for the weekend. Although… we also have plans to visit the Minnesota State Fair.

Looks like another busy weekend ahead!

Must stay focused.

I hope you’re having a great week!
