July 2016 Goals: Fitness, Financial, Blogging & Personal

Happy July!

I haven’t been this excited to start a new month in a long time. I’m so glad June is over, it was not pleasant so I’m ready to move on. I’m really looking forward to July because there are some exciting things happening! We have a virtual 5K, my oldest turns 13 (13!) and Roger and I will be celebrating our 7th anniversary.

Fitness

My main fitness goal this month is to stay consistent. I’m back on track, now I want to stay here! I will workout at least 5 times per week, every week.

I’m switching things up this month and will be doing 21 Day Fix Extreme!

My workout schedule:

  • Sunday: Off
  • Monday: 21 Day Fix Extreme – Plyo Fix
  • Tuesday: 21 Day Fix Extreme – Upper Fix
  • Wednesday: 21 Day Fix Extreme – Total Body Cardio
  • Thursday: 21 Day Fix Extreme – Lower Fix
  • Friday: 21 Day Fix Extreme – Yoga or Pilates Extreme
  • Saturday: Off

Financial

My financial goals continue to have everything to do with getting out of debt. What I’m about to share with you is pretty scary.

Our current debt total as of June 30th: $224,735.45.

The $224,735.45 includes every penny we owe any lender. So that means mortgage, auto and student loans and credit cards. If we follow the debt snowball method, we will have every penny paid off by March 2023. That’d be an amazing birthday present! And that’s only if I keep our snowball number where it’s at right now, which is pretty low to start. That’s amazing to think about. It’s also a pretty big mountain to climb!

  • Begin the debt snowball process – done!
  • Make weekly payments for auto and student loans
  • Continue putting $5 a week towards my newly formed IRA account. This is an automatic transfer. After credit cards are paid off, this will obviously increase. – done!
  • Schedule all July bills – done!
  • Spend $300 or less on groceries. I’m looking forward to this challenge! I feel like we have a lot of food right now so I won’t really need to buy a whole lot. I plan to get most things at Aldi (thank God for Aldi!) and some things at Costco.
  • Listen to The Dave Ramsey Show podcast on my way to work. This is so motivating to listen to. I’ve actually teared up listening to others share their debt free journey because it makes me feel like I can get there too. This show really inspires me to keep chipping away at it.

Blogging

The summer months are typically a slow time of year for bloggers – but for good reason! We should be out enjoying the beautiful weather!

The traffic on this blog increased during the month of June so I’m pretty hopeful. Even though traffic may be lighter in general, I can still put the work in to grow this blog. It’s my passion!

  • Post 3 times per week on topics like fitness, financials, blogging, reviews and/or meal planning
  • Continue using CoSchedule to help me plan my editorial calendar and social media posts
  • Increase monthly pageviews from 8,929 –> 10,000
  • Participate in at least one link-up
  • Brainstorm blog post ideas and plug them in to CoSchedule
  • Fill out monthly blog stats for June
  • Publish a round-up post with the most viewed posts in June

Personal

In addition to my fitness, financial and blogging goals, I also have some personal goals to work on.

  • Spend 30 solid minutes with God every day (for prayer, gratitude, Bible study, devotions, etc.)
  • Spend 10-15 minutes every night planning for the next day in my Erin Condren Life Planner (to-do list, appointments, goals, etc.)

Time to get busy!
