Happy unofficial-start-of-summer day! I’m excited for June. Summer tends to be more stressful just because the kids are out of school but it’s more relaxed at the same time. Wait, does that even make sense? Haha. I hope to do some fun things with them on my days off. I’ll have to get creative since my focus is on paying off debt which makes my budget super tight!
To greatly increase my productivity, I present to you…
My Monthly Goals: June 2016
Fitness
My main fitness goal this month is to get into a nice workout groove again. The past two weeks haven’t gone very well because of my wisdom teeth extractions. I decided to re-subscribe to Les Mills On Demand for $12.99/month. I loved it before but stopped because I couldn’t stand following the workouts on the iPad but now I’m able to use the TV. That will give me a nice variety of workouts to choose from including Grit, Bodypump, Combat and Bodyflow/Bodybalance. I love Bodypump!
My workout schedule:
- Sunday: Off
- Monday: Bodypump
- Tuesday: Bodyflow/Bodybalance
- Wednesday: Grit
- Thursday: Bodypump
- Friday: Off
- Saturday: Bodypump
Financial
My financial goals continue to have everything to do with getting out of debt.
- Set up a debt snowball spreadsheet to track debt payoff more easily
- Make weekly payments for the truck and my student loans
- Continue putting $5 a week towards my newly formed IRA account. This is an automatic transfer. Once the credit cards are paid off, this number will increase dramatically.
- Schedule all June bills (I always do this at the beginning of each month so I know how much will be going out and so I don’t forget any payments)
Blogging
I’ve just recently decided to go full throttle with this blog. It’s my baby. We’ve been together since 2008. I pretty much took the past year off (with random posts here and there) but now I’m jumping back in. Losing my dog and my stepdad within 3 months of each other last year was a huge struggle for me. Coming up with blog posts to write about was tough and seemed so insignificant at the time. The good news is that the passing of time helps us heal.
- Post 3 times per week on topics like fitness, financials, blogging, reviews and/or meal planning
- Continue using CoSchedule to help me plan my editorial calendar and social media posts
- Earn $150 from this blog
- Increase monthly pageviews from 8,072 –> 9,500
- Participate in at least one link-up per week
- Brainstorm blog post ideas for the next 6 weeks
Personal
In addition to my fitness, financial and blogging goals, I also have some personal goals I’d like to accomplish.
- Read two books. I like to choose one for personal development and one that’s just for fun. This month I hope to read Still Missing by Chevy Stevens and The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene’ Brown.
Still Missing Excerpt:
On the day she was abducted, Annie O’Sullivan, a 32-year-old realtor, had three goals—sell a house, forget about a recent argument with her mother, and be on time for dinner with her ever-patient boyfriend. The open house is slow, but when her last visitor pulls up in a van as she’s about to leave, Annie thinks it just might be her lucky day after all.
Interwoven with the story of the year Annie spent as the captive of a psychopath in a remote mountain cabin, which unfolds through sessions with her psychiatrist, is a second narrative recounting events following her escape—her struggle to piece her shattered life back together and the ongoing police investigation into the identity of her captor.
- Get rid of 300 things. Last month I easily got rid of 200 things – mostly garbage (things that shouldn’t be donated or sold). My focus this month will be finding at least 300 items to donate. My focus will be on clothing, books and kitchen items. We have like 12 pots. We use like 4. It’s not necessary to keep ones we don’t use!
- Spend 30 solid minutes with God every day (for prayer, gratitude, Bible study, devotions, etc.)
- Spend 10-15 minutes every night planning for the next day in my Passion Planner (to-do list, appointments, goals, etc.)
- Continue a vegetarian diet. Last month I challenged myself to remove meat from my diet and guess what? I didn’t even miss it. I did try a tiny piece of steak at a BBQ but that was it. I will be sharing some of my favorite meals from the past month very soon.
- Release a second edition of my book, Crawling out of Darkness. I’ve changed the cover design, I’m currently adding a little more content and then I hope to re-release it by the end of the month! I will also be moving it from Amazon and offering it exclusively on my blog.
Time to get busy!
