It’s June! Has been for almost a week now already so I figured it’s time to post my favorite things from May! This is just a little something I started doing for fun to remember my favorite things (and moments) from each month.
My Favorite Things: May 2016
- Pen/pencil holder from Cayden. This cute little holder is a product of one of the fundraiser’s my youngest had this past year in school. It’s my favorite fundraiser EVER! I’d much rather support my son’s school by buying something he created rather than overpriced wrapping paper and cheesy bread. Y’know? All of my parents supported his school by purchasing personalized items for themselves too. I hope they do this again next year!

- The Inspire Bible.
I pre-ordered this journaling Bible back in mid-March (right around my birthday) and it was supposed to be delivered on the release date which was March 22nd or something like that and I finally received it on May 9th. It was worth the wait, it is gorgeous! It was a little frustrating since the expected arrival date kept getting pushed back but the Bible is perfection and I saved quite a bit off of the retail price thanks to Amazon.
One of my very favorite verses (Matthew 5:16):
- Watching my kids play sports. This month I finally got to see Blake compete in a track meet a few times! G and Miss G also started soccer – it’s G’s second season and Miss G’s first season. It’s been so fun to watch them too. I played soccer for several years as a kid. I loved it! And it’s fun that they’re having such a great time with it too.
- Marc Jacobs Mascara.
I received this in an Influenster Voxbox a couple months ago and I’ve been using it religiously ever since. Now it’s finally gone. :( I’m too cheap to go purchase a replacement but I definitely recommend this mascara if you love luscious lashes and like to splurge a little.
The wand is nice and thick and the mascara goes on really nicely. As I started to get towards the bottom of the tube I occasionally had tiny specks of mascara under my eyes but nothing too major – I expect that to happen as the tube becomes empty and the formula gets dry – I just wasn’t ready to throw it away!
- #LaceUp4 RAINN Virtual 5K. You can see the quick recap here. We are definitely doing this next year!
- Bulldog Races at Canterbury Park.
Canterbury Park is a local racehorse track and for the last 3 years they’ve been doing the “Running of the Bulldogs” and it’s hilarious. I’ll just let the video speak for itself. ;)
In case you didn’t know, I’m a bulldog mom. I fell in love with bulldogs after I met my husband and his Olde English Bulldog, Diesel (who passed away in January 2015). Losing him was the hardest thing we had dealt with in some time and his passing left a major void in our lives. He was the best!
After we moved in together we got a bulldog/pug mix and named him Zuki (now 7). Several years later we got my Olde English Bulldog, Bella (now 2), and then earlier this year we got my husband’s Olde English Bulldog, Chopper (now 6 months). So we have a total of 3 bulldogs. I’m so in love with them and I don’t think I’ll ever be without one.
Well I think that about wraps up all of my favorites from May!
