One of my favorite products for making sure my face is squeaky clean are face masks. Clay ones especially. I was recently given the opportunity to try out the Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask and I wanted to share my thoughts with you – in case you love clay masks as much as I do!
While I received a complimentary product sample of the Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask, all opinions are my own. There are no affiliate links in this post.
Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask Overview
All Valentia.com products are made with natural and organic ingredients, are vegan, cruelty-free and made in the USA.
Key Ingredients:
- Kaolin Clay. The clay is what helps draw out impurities from your skin.
- Plant Stem Cells. These help to reduce the level of “pro-aging toxins” and soothe the skin.
- Spirulina. Hydrating vitamins and minerals that also promote regeneration of the skin.
- CoQ10. Promotes cell production in the body.
- Hibiscus & Cranberry Fibers. Help firm the skin to reduce wrinkles.
- Astaxanthin. Powerful antioxidant that helps to promote healthy skin including the elasticity, brightness and skin texture.
Application
Applying the mask is easy peasy. After removing all traces of makeup, I gently cleansed my skin and then applied the mask liberally with my fingertips. When the mask begins to dry, your skin starts to feel tight as the mask works to pull gunk from your pores – I love that feeling.
Removal
After the mask has dried on your face (up to 15-20 minutes) you’re instructed to wash it off using a washcloth, warm water and circular motions to help slough off dead skin cells. There are tiny granules of natural fibers in the clay mask itself that will smooth the skin. Just be aware that if you have sensitive skin (like I do) that you don’t rub too hard. I had to use a really light hand. Once I washed the mask off my skin felt squeaky clean!
What the mask claims to do:
- Draw out impurities
- Improve skin tone
- Reduces pore size
- Firms and strengthens skin
I’ve only used the mask a handful of times so far and I can definitely say that it does draw out impurities, improves my skin tone and texture and reduces my pore size (temporarily of course – I was “blessed” with fairly large pores). I’m not sure how well it firms and strengthens skin yet but it does seem to make my face feel somewhat firm after treatment.
If you’re a clay mask junkie I would suggest giving this one a try. One aspect I really appreciate is that this mask is effective without being super thick – so it doesn’t clog my drain. :)
